Day Charters
Charters begin at Brightlingsea Essex. Passengers are collected by launch and taken out to the barge anchored in the river.
After refreshments we will sail out of the Colne River and into the outstandingly beautiful Blackwater Estuary - be sure to bring a camera.
Get involved with hoisting the anchor and setting the sail, or just watch and enjoy the spacious deck and the experience of sailing an 80ft Thames Sailing Barge.
Lunch consists of a delicious two course homemade buffet with hot and cold drinks. Wind and tide dependent, Edme will anchor during this time.
Costs
Costs are £62 per person including lunch and refershments.
For £620 you can charter the whole barge for up to 12 people.
If you wish to charter the whole barge with no food included, the cost is £550.

Art groups —who often include some painting time aboard — bird watchers, and sailing enthusiasts, are amongst the many people who have enjoyed a trip aboard Edme, taking advantage of the picturesque creeks and backwaters of the Colne and Blackwater rivers.
Due to the size and stability of the barge, there is little issue with sea sickness! She is a comfortable sail. It is advisable however to bring warm clothing and non slip shoes even if the sun is shining.
